Best of Beverley Awards 2025
Celebrating Unsung Heroes
Beverley Town Council is pleased to announce the return of the Best of Beverley Awards – or BoBs for short - to celebrate the amazing support businesses, voluntary groups and individuals give to our local community.
The Mayor of Beverley Councillor David Boynton said: “During my year of office, I have been bowled over by then number of unsung heroes in our town. We have pubs that are the heart of their community, voluntary groups doing extraordinary things, and individuals who go above and beyond for their neighbours. These awards are an opportunity to sing their praises.”
Members of the public are being encouraged to make Best of Beverley Award nomination in three different categories:
BUSINESS
Examples include:
· Local businesses that raise money for local good causes.
· Shops or café which that run on community events.
· Pubs that go out of its way to support Beverley community groups
COMMUNITY
Examples include:
· Local community groups that have given you amazing help and support.
· Festivals, groups or sports team that make a positive contribution to our town.
· Voluntary organisations that work hard to make Beverley a special place in which to live.
INDIVIDUAL
Examples include:
· A young person who volunteers to help community groups and organisations.
· A neighbour who has spent years raising money for charity.
· Someone you know who deserves celebrating for what they do for the Beverley community.
Nominations in each category will be whittled down to a shortlist of five, with those making the list being invited to the awards night on Friday 11th April at East Riding Theatre. On the night itself a runner-up and winner for each category will be announced.
The Mayor said: “Beverley is a town bursting with community spirit. The BoBs are all about celebrating this and publicly recognising the best of the best. Beverley Town Council looks forwards to receiving as many nominations as possible and putting on an evening that does our community proud.”
Nomination forms can be downloaded from https://www.beverley.gov.uk/bob/ or paper copies can be collected from the Town Council’s office at 12 Well Lane, Beverley, HU17 9BL.
The deadline for nominations is Sunday 16th March 2025. Nominations will be judged by the Town Council’s Events Working Group, with all nominees written to by the Mayor thanking them for their entry. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Awards Night at East Riding Theatre on Friday 11th April.
