A new farmer’s food event showcasing the best in local and regional produce is to become a regular monthly fixture at Beverley’s Flemingate centre.

The indoor and outdoor food event will take place on the second Sunday of every month starting on Sunday, April 9, and will offer locally grown and produced food, ranging from savoury pies; artisan bakes; macaroons and other sweet treats; fruit and vegetables; and hot and cold street food. A range of gourmet dog biscuits will ensure our furry friends are also catered for.

Graham Tait, Flemingate Centre Manager, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome independent traders to our food event at Flemingate. Yorkshire boasts top-quality produce and we hope our monthly event will complement Beverley’s existing Saturday and Wednesday markets giving customers even more variety and access to locally-produced food.

“Regular food events benefit local traders, customers and the community as a whole and encourage people to buy local where possible. It’s also another example of our desire to make Flemingate available for events that bring the community together and enhance the reputation of Beverley as a great place to visit.”

Organised by The Market Managers, a York-based organisation responsible for successful markets in the North Yorkshire towns of Malton, Scarborough and Acomb, the monthly food event will offer high-quality produce at competitive prices and will be open from 10am to 4pm.

The food event is in addition to a monthly Craft and Artisan Fair, which was launched at Flemingate last September and now runs on the first Saturday of every month.
