East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Christmas holidays grant scheme has launched for 2026.
Applications are welcomed from organisations, charities, schools, town and parish councils, faith groups and businesses to provide four-hour sessions and a healthy meal for children and young people in receipt of benefits related free school meals. Organisations can apply for up to £5,000 to deliver fun activities in the Christmas holidays.
Sessions could include sport, play, drama, cooking, crafts, music, healthy lifestyles, art, outdoor adventure or animal experiences. Funding can be spent on management and staff delivery, equipment, venue, food, marketing, capital costs, volunteer expenses and excursions. This year delivery partners will also need to offer paid places on their holiday programmes enabling all families to access activities in the holidays.
Councillor Victoria Aitken, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education said: “The HAF Summer programme is in full swing, with a diverse mix of activities taking place right across the East Riding. I’d encourage organisations to apply for Christmas grants to ensure our Christmas offer is equally as good for our children and families.”
The deadline for applications is 12pm on 7 September 2026.
