Enjoy a Pond Safari and a Teddy Bears Picnic this month in the East Riding

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team has arranged more outdoor events this summer for families to get outdoors and enjoy the nature around them.
The Kids Go Wild events will be :
Pond Safari and Arts Activities : Eastrington Ponds Nature Reserve, Howden Road, Eastrington: Tuesday, 22 August
Explore the ponds from the safety of the shore, and discover who lives there. Look for water scorpions, water stick insects and dragonfly nymphs. Pond dipping nets and trays will be provided. Participants will also use art materials to recreate the creatures they have seen. The event will be run by the countryside access team and wildlife artist Michele Davy.
There will be two sessions : 10am-12noon and 1pm -3pm.

Teddy Bears Picnic : Humber Bridge Country Park, Cliff Road, Hessle Foreshore: Wednesday, 30 August
Join in a traditional teddy bears picnic – bring your teddy bear and a picnic, and settle down in the meadow. Enjoy an easy stroll on the animal trail, make a bear in Arts and Crafts Corner, and meet Polly Kettle from Nursery Rhyme Land. There will be stories, songs and games….and a chance to meet a big friendly bear!
The event will be run by the countryside access team, Rusticus, and wildlife artist Michele Davy.
The event will run from 12pm – 3pm: participants can join in with their tickets any time between 12 and 3.
