Beverley residents will be inspired to live more sustainably and reduce their carbon footprint at the town’s first Eco Fair.
Fri 18th August 2023Talks, workshops, stalls, refreshments and children’s activities, including puppet shows, will form part
of what promises to be a lively, free event taking place at Beverley Minster on Saturday 30th
September. Under the awe-inspiring Gaia installation in the church, businesses, charities, local groups
and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council will come together to showcase what they’re doing to support
the environment and help save the planet.
With plenty of information and facts about climate change and renewables, alongside lots of
inspiration and fun, the event also aims to encourage visitors to recognise the small actions they can
take to live in more environmentally sustainable ways. Visitors will also get the chance to take the
Climate Hero challenge to discover their carbon footprint and find out ways to reduce it.
Activities scheduled throughout the day will include talks on the environment and climate change,
with opportunities for visitors to question the experts. Topics and times will be posted on the Minster
website a few days before the event at: https://beverleyminster.org.uk/ecofest-23/
Indigo Moon Theatre will give 3 FREE 40-minute performances of “Seedheart” - a small puppet show
about big things - at 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00. No booking is required. Places will be offered on a first-
come first-served basis. Other children's activities throughout the day will include climate change
science, nature and craft activities.
Refreshments will also be available to purchase throughout the day.
