Bright Economic Future For Unloved Beverley Site Mark Butters

An area of Beverley which has been unappreciated for many years is finally receiving the love and investment it deserves – thanks to the vision of a local property investor and East Riding Council.

Tradepark Ltd, a property development business based in Beverley, recently acquired eight units on Grovehill Road and has appointed PPH Commercial as the letting agent after helping to conclude the deal.

Tradepark director Mark Butters is currently refurbishing the site – which measures more than 33,000 sq ft in total – so that the workshops are suitable for storage, distribution or general industrial use.

The semi-derelict land next door, which was once a Council depot and ambulance station, is also set for a multi-million-pound makeover after plans were approved for 16 new offices and 14 light industrial units to be built by the Council.

Mr Butters, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a property developer, said: “For too many years, this part of Beverley has not been fully appreciated or viewed with as much love as I believe it should be. This is a prominent location which is definitely on the up.

“Each of the units we let benefit from an excellent road-side presence; they’re not buried away and I believe this aspect will appeal to business owners who want to attract a significant amount of passing trade.

“The proposed Council investment in a new business park will massively improve the area even further, both economically and visually, to once again make it a key part of the thriving local economy.”

To support economic regeneration in the area, a section of Grovehill Road was recently widened in a £430,000 scheme.

Tradepark’s refurbishment schedule is also already underway and, if everything goes to plan, they are confident of achieving 100% occupancy by Spring 2020.

PPH director Ben Cooper, who helped conclude the acquisition and is responsible for letting the units, believes Tradepark’s investment will prove to be a shrewd decision.

Mr Cooper said: “Beverley is an up and coming area which will soon benefit from plenty of new housing and it’s an ideal place to establish a new business.

“The town is already home to an abundance of business-minded and self-employed people who might want to explore the possibility of expanding an existing venture.

“Tradepark’s project is an ideal fit for this business model and new start-ups. I’m confident that business people will appreciate what each unit has to offer and be excited about the economic uplift which the Grovehill Road area will experience both in the near future and for years to come.”
