Young people invited to Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Event
Fri 11th October 2024Young people across East Riding are invited to the Hull and East Riding Apprenticeship Event, taking place on Wednesday 27 November at Bishop Burton College.
The annual event provides a chance for young people in years 11, 12 and 13 to find out more about apprenticeships and connect with providers of apprenticeship opportunities.
Over 30 organisations will be attending, including Avant skills academy, the British Army, Bishop Burton College, Boarcross, Catch, Cranswick, Civil Service Careers, East Riding College, GTA, HBTC, HETA, Hull College, Hull Training and Adult Education, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the Royal Navy, Northern Powergrid, Quickline Communications, the RAF, Reckitt, Siemens Mobility, Skills Hull and East Yorkshire, Smailes Goldie, Springfield Training, Stork and York College.
There is also the chance to speak to relevant services to help young people on their journey to an apprenticeship including staff from Log On Move On and Skills Hull and East Yorkshire, local authority SEND teams, Job Centre Plus, Supported Internship experts and the Hull City Council Connexions careers advisers.
Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: “This is a fantastic event for our young people to find out more about the apprenticeships on offer locally and to make contact with the businesses and organisations providing them. We are expecting around 1000 young people to attend and know that it is helpful for them as they consider their next steps.”
Schools and colleges will attend throughout the daytime, and colleges, and for the first time the event is open to the public between 4pm and 6pm, for adults considering apprenticeships and young people who cannot attend earlier in the day. Please book here: https://eryc.link/apprenticeship-event
The event is run by Bishop Burton College, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council.
