Yorkshire Day at Sewerby Hall and Gardens
Tue 25th July 2017Sewerby Hall and Gardens is holding a spectacular celebration of all things Yorkshire with a fun-filled day out for all the family this Yorkshire Day, Tuesday, 1 August.
Hosted by the East Riding of Yorkshire Town Crier, the day includes various activities and events. The Town Crier himself will be running a ‘Best Town Crier’ competition for visitors of all ages to take part in and the Chairman of the council will be onsite to oversee proceedings citing the Yorkshire Declaration of Integrity at 11.42am.
The museum team will be adding to the festivities with baking in the Edwardian Kitchen using recipes found in the East Riding Archives, Yorkshire Pudding and Spoon races, Yorkshire Flag making sessions and swingboat rides also onsite between 11am and 3pm.
Rusticus Theatre Arts will be onsite with their Great Yorkshire Moments Adventure! Travel through time, without ever leaving this crazy county. Meet the barmy people that make Yorkshire - and its puddings - great. Silly outdoor performance walks with activities.
With a variety of supporting performers, this Yorkshire Day promises to be our best yet. Dancing from Makara Morris and Steampunk Border Morris and ukulele action from The Assembly Line. Representatives from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will be onsite to answer any questions visitors may have.
Admission charges are currently £7.50 for adults, £5.40 for children and £24 for a family (two adults and two children).
