Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in Beverley now open EVERY Sunday
Wed 22nd March 2017The continuing popularity of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Treasure House in Beverley means that East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced today that the free exhibition will now be open every Sunday for the remainder of its run.
The exhibition closes on Saturday 22 April, so the final Sunday opening will be Easter Sunday (16 April).
Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, said: “We always knew that this exhibition would draw big crowds, but we have been very pleasantly surprised by the numbers of people who have flocked to see it!
“It has been open for the last three Sundays as an experiment, and on each occasion, over 500 people came in, so we have now decided to open the exhibition and the Treasure House café every Sunday for the remainder of the exhibition’s run.
“It is particularly pleasing that Wildlife Photographer of the year has attracted so many visitors to the Treasure House and the Art Gallery for the first time – it’s a great example of exactly what Hull 2017 is all about.”
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is a Principal Partner in Hull UK City of Culture 2017, and the exhibition is part of a year-long programme of events all across the East Riding.
