Councillor Pat O’Neil, chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The council is pleased to host the Tour de Yorkshire trophy ahead of the inaugural event on 1-3 May, and that residents and local communities across the East Riding will get the opportunity to see it up close.
“To play such a major part of the Tour de Yorkshire is an excellent investment for the area and will provide tangible benefits for our local economy.
“It is anticipated that up to one million visitors will come to Yorkshire over the three days and, with the race taking in so many of our towns and villages, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase our area to a national and international audience and put the East Riding on the map.”
