THE BEVERLEY RSPCA SHOP IN BUTCHER ROW CELEBRATES ITS 1ST BIRTHDAY

The RSPCA shop in Beverley was opened to raise the profile of the charity and help rescued animals locally, especially raising funds to rebuild the Clough Road Animal Welfare Shelter in Hull which will have to close if not rebuilt soon as it does not meet modern standards.
The shop is in a great position, which means there is high demand for shoes, books, bric-a-brac, children’s and adult’s clothing, toys, CDs and DVDs. Even old clothes, old books, scratched CD's and DVD's and old shoes are acceptable because they can be recycled – so please don’t throw them in the dustbin! The only thing which cannot be accepted is large furniture because it’s only a small shop. There is a free collection service (ring the shop on 01482 872924 to book a slot) or drop off donations anytime - you can pull up outside the shop down Butcher Row before 11am and after 3pm.
The RSPCA needs to raise £1m to rebuild the Clough Road shelter to care for the 100s of vulnerable animals from this area which need rehoming every year; these include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. The staff are dedicated to helping the neglected, abused and abandoned animals which come into their care. Every penny raised is going to create an animal centre worthy of the 21st century and the shop is a great way of achieving this aim – so please do pop in, wish them ‘Happy Birthday’ and continue with your support.
