The Best April Fool of the Year goes to East Riding Town Crier, Michael Wood

Our own Town Crier, Michael Wood, has been nominated for the prestigious award of the Best April Fool of 2016 - and it happened right here in Beverley on April 1st (of course!). As Michael himself says, it was the most believable, funny and quite frankly original April Fool, as local folk were totally taken in by it.
Just Beverley, who were pleased to be at the event, heard people asking whether it was something to do with a new health and safety by-law, especially as Michael won the loudest cry competition which was held beforehand.
The April Fool was for the 'World's Quietest Crier' - the added twist being that Michael now actually owns that title!
It could only happen here in Beverley! Congratulations to Michael!
