Street Art Hull gallery pops up at Flemingate
Thu 8th December 2016Some of Hull and East Yorkshire’s most talented amateur artists have opened a temporary gallery at Beverley’s Flemingate centre in the run-up to Christmas.
Founded in 2012, Street Art Hull is a collective of 25 local amateur artists who exhibit their work throughout the year at pop-up galleries and outdoor marquees in Hull and East Yorkshire and as part of the Humber Street Market in Hull’s Fruit Market district on the third Sunday of every month.
Gordon Rason, Chairman of Street Art Hull, said: “We’re delighted to have our gallery at Flemingate this Christmas. We’ve had temporary galleries in Hull city centre and Hessle in the past but this is the first time we’ve had an exhibition in Beverley.
“Beverley’s a lovely market town and our exhibition space here at Flemingate is brand new, so it’s a great space for our members to showcase their art to a wider audience.
“We’re already seeing a lot of people stopping by to have a look at our paintings and buy some original, unique and affordable presents for Christmas.”
The gallery features an eclectic range of original artwork and is located opposite the Christmas grotto at the popular Flemingate centre. It is open from 10am to 5pm, seven days a week up to and including Christmas Eve.
The addition of the Street Art Hull gallery adds to the appeal of Flemingate for shoppers and visitors during this festive season.
With a host of big retail brands, high-quality independent retailers, a great selection of dining options and a busy programme of events, the Flemingate centre is the perfect place to get all your Christmas gifts and enjoy the seasonal spirit.
Major high street names at Flemingate include Debenhams, H&M, River Island, Peacocks, Superdrug, toy retailer The Entertainer and Wilko as well as the multi-brand retailer Outfit, which features fashion must-haves from the likes of Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Miss Selfridge and Burton. These are complemented by high-quality independents – fashion store Bolo, jeweller Guest and Philips and homewares retailer Baytree Interiors.
To give you a break from the festive shopping frenzy, Flemingate offers a wide range of food and drink options from Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Patisserie Valerie, Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Greggs and Subway to locally owned and managed independents Deli No. 1 and Riva Lounge.
