Millington Dale Mist

The countryside access team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council has organised two events on Sunday, 28 July to kick start the school summer holidays by getting closer to nature.

The Millington Dale Wild Flower Photography Walk from 10am -4pm at Millington Wood Local Nature Reserve near Pocklington will be a chance to bring a camera and experience the beauty of Scoar Dale, a grassland area with many wild flowers.

Participants will be able to improve their photography skills with Wolds photography expert Paul Moon. It will be a slow walk with many stops covering around two miles, and is aimed at people with all levels of interest and skills. Tickets for this event cost £10 for adults, and £5 for under 16s. Booking is essential, as places are limited.

There will be a Small Mammal Safari from 10am -1pm at Oakhill Nature Reserve, off Tom Pudding Way in Goole.  This will be a chance to explore the reserve in search of native small mammals, and to check the live capture traps prepared specially for the safari, and see who is inside. The walk will be up to a mile in length. The event is free, but booking is essential.
