St Mary's and Beverley Minster both host touring choirs!
Mon 21st October 2019It’s a weekend of concerts this weekend as St. Mary’s Church and Beverley Minster both host touring choirs!
Starting on Saturday 26th October at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Beverley, Levens Choir will perform “Missa Sancti Christophori" by Antonio Lotti and "Lux Aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen. The choir will be accompanied by the organ played by Andy Plowman. The conductor is Ian Jones.
As Gill Smith has written “This one of Levens Choir's 2019 tour concerts. The choir is based in South Cumbria and started life as a village choir in Levens in 1975. Nowadays it is a thriving chamber choir which draws its singers from a wide area of Cumbria, North Lancashire and Yorkshire."

On Sunday 27th October at 5.30pm in Beverley Minster, thirty members of St Peter's Singers, (who are based in Leeds) will be performing English Cathedral Music in a Choral Evensong accompanied by organist David Houlder. The Musical Director is Dr Simon Lindley. This concert is part of St. Peter’s Singers’ tour of the East Riding taking place over the weekend of 26th and 27th October with other performances taking place in York and Hull.
