Scout bag pack at Tesco raises £779
Mon 23rd March 2015Tesco was pleased to welcome the 5th Beverley (Wesley) Scout Group to bag pack in their store on Saturday 14 March.
Thanks to our customers, the bag pack raised a fantastic £779.
Darren Burgess, Group Scout Leader, said: ‘‘We are really grateful to the customers of Tesco for their donations. Baden Powell once said that “a week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical teaching in the classroom” and we will use some of the money raised to buy extra camping equipment. The rest of it will be put towards our trip to Peak 2015 - an international Scout and Guide camp taking place in the grounds of Chatsworth House this summer.
"Scouting continues to offer fun and friendship, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 girls and boys across the UK. However; with over 35,000 on waiting lists nationwide; we are always looking for additional adult volunteers, so more young people can join the adventure. If you are interested in helping your local Group, you can contact us though our website www.5thbeverley.ukscout.org.uk."
