RHS BRITAIN IN BLOOM FINALIST - BEVERLEY - NEEDS YOUR HELP TO WIN BEST LARGE TOWN
Wed 4th July 20182018 is a very special year for Beverley in that it has been selected as a finalist in this prestigious competition. Last year, Beverley won a Gold Award and the accolade of Best Town in Yorkshire. This year, with the effort of all Beverley residents, Beverley could go one step further.
To be invited to take part in RHS Britain in Bloom is a credit to everyone who makes Beverley such a lovely place to live in; to win means hard work and vision as the award is not just about pretty flowers, it’s about all the aspects of the town which make it bright, vibrant, community-enhancing and alive.
Beverley Town Council, Beverley in Bloom, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, East Riding College, schools, charities and many volunteers are busy making the town into ‘Brighter Beverley’ - but there’s so much more to do in every area of the
town, not just the town centre.
Weeding, seat-staining, planter cleaning, making and filling hanging baskets, litter picking, WW1 commemoration mural painting, knitting poppies, woodworking, grot-spot clearing, painting as well as planting are all in need of action.
Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Duncan Jack is leading Brighter Beverley Tidy Days of volunteers on Tuesday 10th July and Tuesday 24th July from 10am-12noon meeting in Railway Square who will help with all aspects of work which needs to be done. Everyone can help!
Duncan said: “Every little helps and everyone is welcome no matter how large or small their contribution. Please call
the Town Council on 01482 874096 or email: clerk@beverley.gov. uk to let us know how you can get involved.
Beverley Town Council officers will respond to your message and keep you informed of Brighter Beverley activities.”
Who could resist helping to make Beverley an even brighter place to live!
