After the success of Safeguarding Week 2025, East Riding of Yorkshire Council has once again partnered with the Safeguarding Adults Board (ERSAB) to deliver an interesting programme of events.
Along with other partners including, North Yorkshire Council, City of York Council and Hull City Council, the programme of events will take place between Monday, 15 to Friday, 19 June.
As per previous years the main theme will be “safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility” with an emphasis on how everyone can work together.
The programme has been developed for both professional and public audiences covering a wide variety of safeguarding themes looking at both adult and child safeguarding.
Sessions will be free to attend and delivered virtually or in person at varying times throughout the day to accommodate attendees’ working day or evening activities.
Some of the events and themes include hoarding awareness, rough sleeping outreach support, autism and ADHD, trauma informed practice, domestic abuse, modern slavery and much more.
Team members from adult services, children’s services, the City Health Care Partnership (CHCP) and the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector will be attending the events.
Stephen Chapman, Chair of East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board, said: “Safeguarding Week is a vital opportunity to bring partners, professionals and communities together to strengthen our shared commitment to keeping people safe.
‘’The range of events on offer reflects the importance of collaboration and raising awareness across a wide range of issues. We encourage everyone to get involved, learn more and play their part, because safeguarding truly is everyone’s responsibility.”
