A plaque in memory of the former Hedon (Hull) Airfield was unveiled on the 27 July 2017 at the Kingstown Hotel in Hedon, by the Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust (ABCT). The former Hedon airport was famously known as the airport which Amy Johnson visited in August 1930, shortly after returning from her famous flight to Australia. The plaque reads:

Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust aims to advance the education of the public in the history of British airfields. One of these ways is the erection of memorials at sites of national and historical importance. The ABCT was established to acknowledge the enormous and unique contribution airfields have made in numerous spheres since 1909. A memorial is intended to be erected at each known disused airfield site in Britain in order to provide a permanent reminder for future generations. www.abct.org.uk
