Organic Apple Festival
Fri 14th October 2016The Organic Apple Festival is taking place on Sunday 16th October 2016, 10am till 3pm at Carr House Farm, Foston on the Wolds, Driffield.
This free Organic Apple Festival is an ideal day out for the whole family!
During the day there will be demonstrations and talks at intervals throughout the day to include:
- Apple pressing –have a go at blending & pressing apple juice - plus tasting!
- ‘Field & Forage’ will be doing foraging cooking demonstrations
- Guided walk & talk around our Organic Orchards
- Our nature trail will also be open for a wildlife walks throughout the day.
- Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Stand
The bakery will be open all day serving a wide range of freshly baked Breads, Croissant & Cakes and there will be a pop up café in the heated ‘Gingerbread Barn’ serving freshly baked hot & cold refreshments all day.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds near Driffield, Carr House Farm is the home of the Side Oven Bakery, and the farm is where the Sellers family have lived and worked for 5 generations.
About the Side Oven: A wide range of cereals are grown on their Organic farm which following harvest are taken to the mill house where they are milled into flour using their traditional stone ground mill.
The bakery makes an award winning range of Organic Honey Toasted Breakfast cereals, artisan breads & croissant.
They also farm organic soft fruit orchards including apple, blackcurrant and elderflower. These are used to produce their award winning range of Apple Juice and Fruit Cordials which are all handpicked and pressed/infused on the farm in their juicery.
Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Plenty of parking available. Disabled facilities.
