A Dickens of a Christmas Opening next Week.
East Riding Theatre is serving up ‘A Dickens of a Christmas’ this December, a festive theatrical finish to a ‘Dickens’ of a year!
2022 has been eventful for everyone and East Riding Theatre is keen to send their audiences into Christmas with some pure, joyous entertainment.
Led by a theatrical troupe of 7 professional actors and a supporting community cast, East Riding Theatre has teamed up with Other Lives Productions for this Charles Dickens’ extravaganza.
The cast will step into the shoes of various characters including Fagin, Scrooge, Little Nell and even Charles Dickens himself!
Through music, scenes and vignettes, ‘A Dickens of a Christmas’ promises festive family fun.
Director Richard Avery says: “I think a lot of people hear ‘Dickens’ and think ‘Christmas’.
His stories are so iconic, particularly at this time of year and we wanted to celebrate not just one of his books, but as many as we possibly could! East Riding Theatre’s first 3 Christmas productions were re-tellings of Dickens’ stories and we are delighted to bring some of these familiar characters back to the stage, played by some of the actors who brought them to life
here!”
East Riding Theatre is always proud to champion local talent and this Christmas is no different. The talented cast and creative team is made up of Hull and East Riding creatives.
East Riding Theatre are welcoming audiences to make the most of the occasion and dress up in their best Victorian garb.
‘A Dickens of a Christmas’ is an East Riding Theatre and Other Lives Production. It runs from 7th-23rd December.
