Open weekend at new Beverley Tone Zone

The newly refurbished Tone Zone at East Riding Leisure Beverley will open this April with a special Open Weekend on 11 and 12 April.
The £1.2million scheme of improvements at East Riding Leisure Beverley started last August and has been completed on time and within budget.
Councillor Stephen Parnaby OBE, leader of the council, said:” I am delighted that we are able to open this latest investment in leisure and health across the East Riding, following our recent significant investments in Haltemprice and Bridlington. This new Tone Zone will be an invaluable improvement to what is already a hugely popular facility in Beverley.
“This council will continue to invest in leisure and health facilities which are of direct benefit to our residents, and our prudent financial management over a period of many years allows us to maintain this investment programme. Investment like this today is in reality a saving for taxpayers tomorrow – we are encouraging people to be active and so improve their health and wellbeing, which in turn will mean less demand on the region’s health services in the future.
“We are aiming high with this new facility, and want to see one million visits a year to East Riding Leisure Beverley.”
On Saturday 11 April, there will be tours for members from 8am – 9pm, and on Sunday 12 April, anyone will be able to tour the new facility between 8am and 9pm. These tours can be booked in advance. Also on the Sunday there will be the launch of new Les Mills classes and a range of activities including Zumba and RPM.
There will be a free bouncy castle for children aged 5-12 on Sunday 12 April between 8.45am and 12 noon.
The new Tone Zone is double the size of the previous gym – with around 90 stations – and will offer a wide range of high-tech resistance and cardiovascular equipment, as well as a purpose built RPM room.
The new Tone Zone will boast the latest Matrix equipment with new features such as Virtual Active software, which will give users a choice of location to run or cycle through, from Hollywood streets to tracks around the Grand Canyon. Users will also be able to watch TV and listen to their MP3 player on the machines.
In addition to the state-of-the-art technology available, there are 48 extra car parking spaces at the back of the facility, taking the total number of parking spaces up to 174.
Four new cycle shelters and external seating and benches have also been installed, allowing space for ten bikes in each shelter, totalling about 40 bike spaces, up from the previous 26.
