Open Day on the Syntan barge
Wed 22nd January 2014The Beverley Barge Preservation Society, a local registered charity, has for some years been running charters down the River Hull to the Humber in the restored ex-Hodgsons’ barge Syntan.
They have now decided that Syntan will become a static resource moored on Beverley Beck to be used as an educational tool for local schoolchildren – to educate them on the history of the area and the work carried out by local industries now sadly long gone.
In addition, the society wishes to hire out the Syntan as a unique meeting place for local business people, either for staff meetings (perhaps for training purposes) or for groups such as your own. The Syntan has all the facilities necessary to hold meetings such as audio-visual equipment, screens, and so on, and can handle social events too.
They can still arrange charters on our other two boats, Mermaid and Sun.
They are running two open days (Saturday 22nd March and Sunday 23rd March, from 11am to 3pm, where people can come to view the boats and decide if the facilities they offer can be of use.
