New headteacher for Grammar
Mon 19th January 2015Beverley Grammar School has appointed Gavin Chappell as its new headteacher from the start of September.
The 44-year-old is currently headteacher at The Market Weighton School, where he helped to lead them out of special measures befor being officially given the headship in 2013.
Beverley Grammar was stripped of its outstanding status by Ofsted in the same year, but is recovering well after its pupils achieved the best GCSE results in the school's long history, last summer.
Gillian Todd has been leading the school since June, but is set to retire at the end of the school year.
