Now available to download, the East Riding Libraries App allows users to carry out a wide range of library functions at the touch of a button.

For those without a library card, it’s free to join, using the icon on the app, at any East Riding Libraries branch, or online at library.eastriding.gov.uk

The App features actions such as renewing books (from anywhere, anytime) to searching the catalogue and reserving items to collect from any East Riding Library.

A particularly useful feature of this app is to scan the barcode of any book whilst the user is out and about, for example in a book shop or at a friend’s house. The app will find the corresponding title in the East Riding Libraries catalogue, and offer users the option of reserving it there and then.

Additional features include the ‘Library Finder’ function, which will pick up the user’s location (Location/GPS must be enabled on their device) and then direct the user to any East Riding Library. Users can also keep up to date with East Riding Libraries, Museums and Archives Facebook and Twitter pages through the app
