Netball Club packs bags at Tesco
Tue 14th April 2015Tesco were pleased to welcome the Beverley-based Allus Netball Club to bag pack in our store on Saturday 11 April.
Thanks to our customers, the bag pack raised a fantastic £760.
Helen Mitchell Smith, chair of the club said: ‘‘On behalf of Allus Netball Club I would like to thank Tesco and all your customers for allowing the Netball girls the opportunity to help pack their bags and for the generous donations that your customers gave the girls in return.
"Allus Netball Club started their junior section five years ago and have gone from strength to strength. The club has seen girls gain places in the Satellite and County Academies and also in the Regional Netball Academy. The current U14 and U16 squads qualified to take part in the regional league and both gained 4th place overall. Our U19 squad qualified in first position in Humberside and will be playing in a regional tournament in May. All age groups play in various different leagues and tournaments including our adult/open age group where we have 3 separate squads playing in the Humberside league.
"Allus take girls from school year 5 and upwards and will be looking at a further intake in September. Anyone interested in netball can see our website at allusnetball.co.uk.
Our attendance on Saturday was to fund all the league entries and tournament entries and also much needed equipment to support our growing Club. Allus took £760 on Saturday, with all age groups, parents and coaches attending."
