Mysterious Children's Trail in the Treasure House, Beverley, this summer

Children and families can have fun solving some puzzling mysteries at the Treasure House in Beverley this summer, as they take part in the annual Treasure House Children’s Trail. The free activity is available throughout the summer holiday until Saturday 9 September.

Participants are invited to become detectives and explore the building, looking for clues to help them complete the trail. The mysteries include working out what some unusual-looking historical objects were used for and breaking codes to reveal the identity of mystery locations around Beverley. It’s a perfect indoor activity for the school holidays.

Everyone who takes part can enter the prize draw, for a chance to win family passes to Sewerby Hall and Gardens and Skidby Mill, as well as kids’ craft materials.

A little bit of a helping hand is given by the characters from Beverley Library’s Summer Reading Challenge. The Animal Agents, a group of skilled detectives, appear on some of the clues to lend support.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture, said : “The Children’s Trail is always great fun, and very popular, and this year includes a chance to crack some codes! It will also help families to learn about Beverley, and about local history.”
