Meet the waste and recycling team during national Recycle Week
Wed 11th October 2023Waste and recycling officers will be out and about in the East Riding to celebrate this year’s national Recycle Week.
The officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council will be promoting household recycling and offering advice and information from their recycling van.
National Recycle Week 2023 runs from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 October, and this year’s theme is The Big Recycling Hunt and focuses on the items that can be recycled but are commonly missed in the home – items found in kitchens, bathrooms, cupboards and bags.
To mark the event, the waste and recycling officers will be visiting:
- Pocklington market on Tuesday 17 October,
- Beverley, Wednesday Market, on Wednesday 18 October.
The officers will be on hand to speak to anyone about waste and recycling issues, answer their questions, and give information about the East Riding of Yorkshire Council app, which includes important information about bin collection days and what can and can’t be recycled.
Councillor Paul West, the council’s portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “Please go along and meet our officers if you have any questions or queries as they are there to help with any advice or issues regarding waste and recycling and your bin collections.”
No appointment is needed, residents can just go along to the waste and recycling van on the day.
Visit the council’s website at www.eastriding.gov.uk/bins for more information about recycling and to watch videos offering recycling tips and showing what happens to the waste in your wheelie bins.
