Looking for a new career - LGV drivers required!
Mon 4th January 2016Beverley-based TIR Training, which provides a comprehensive range of quality training to meet the specialised needs of the logistics sector, has launched a unique driver-match scheme to help tackle the national shortage of LGV drivers. Many haulage firms are dependent on agency drivers to keep their trucks on the road so TIR are encouraging companies which need drivers to contact them when they have a vacancy so they can be matched with a TIR Training newly-qualified driver .
The advantage of the scheme for haulage companies is that this is a low-cost, time-saving recruitment option, whilst for new drivers it is zero cost. There is a dedicated 'Driver Match' team on-hand to answer all queries within 48 hours.
Shah Wright, Managing Director of TIR Training says of the scheme, “The driver crisis has been well documented for some time now, and here at TIR we have a steady stream of individuals who train with us looking to get in to logistics. While they are training with us, we will identify their key skills and match them with an employer looking for those specific skills.Throughout their training with us, drivers are assessed on their attitude and suitability. Only those who we feel are of a high standard are passed to companies who are feeling the strain through a lack of drivers. We have fantastic training facilities at TIR and dedicated, experienced instructors to ensure we can give the best possible service to both our customers and potential drivers alike.’’
