Longcroft Student's Wish comes true!
Wed 21st December 2016On Tuesday 13th December, Longcroft student Lucy Attree received a very special visit and surprise during her GCSE P.E. lesson.
The past year has been a tough one for Lucy due to a serious medical issue and thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation, she fulfilled one of her dreams to perform in a professional pantomime. The first Lucy knew of this was when ITV’s This Morning visited her in her lesson and announced this to her live on television. Not only were Lucy’s parents on hand to join her for this special moment, but there was also a recorded message from one of her heroes, hockey player and Olympic gold medallist Sam Quek.
Lucy was then whisked to the Liverpool Floral Pavilion, where she met the cast of the pantomime Cinderella, including This Morning’s Alison Hammond. After a backstage tour and rehearsals, she was ready to appear on stage on the Wednesday night. However, as a further surprise, Sam Quek visited her in person to wish her good luck.
This was a fantastic experience for Lucy and her family, with everyone from Make a Wish, This Morning and Longcroft School who was involved in enabling it to happen thrilled that she had such a wonderful time.
