Local hospice engages in recycling initiative to help raise awareness and funds
Mon 30th December 2024This Christmas will see local charity Dove House Hospice embrace tree - cycling as part of their Christmas Tree Recycling appeal. The initiative aims to engage with residents and allow them to dispose of their Christmas trees in an eco-friendly manner whilst helping to raise funds towards the care that Dove House provides across Hull and East Yorkshire. On Friday 10th and Saturday 11th January 2025, people in the HU5, HU8, HU10, HU13, HU14, HU16 and HU17 postcode areas can register to have their tree collected in return for a donation to the hospice (recommended donation of £10.00 per Christmas tree).
Dan Clipson, Senior Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, explained “This Christmas sees the return of our well supported recycling initiative having raised over £2,000 in 2023. Residents can simply leave their real Christmas trees at the top of their drive or in their front garden and our team of volunteers shall collect directly. It is hoped that this year’s appeal raises £4,000 for local hospice care. Support of this kind from the local community is greatly valued by all at the hospice and is essential to help Dove House Hospice continue to provide the vital person-centered care for many people in Hull and East Yorkshire”.
