Local firm TaxAssist Accountants has recently acquired accountancy practice, Hemingway Bailey.

Hemmingway Bailey was founded in 2010 by Alan Hemingway, who has built the business up over the last 8 years, working to provide accountancy solutions to businesses in Beverley and the wider East Yorkshire region.

HB Specialised in small and medium sized businesses, working with a cross section of clients and providing services including company accounts, tax returns, payroll, management accounts and general advice.

Alan Hemingway was presented with an opportunity to live abroad and looked to sell the business to a like minded Accountancy Firm.

Having previously dealt with TaxAssist, Alan approached Tony Hall, owner of TaxAssist in Beverley. ‘I wasn’t actively looking to make an acquisition, but when Alan approached me and I realised we had similar types of clients and a very similar culture, I jumped at the opportunity’.

Tony Hall set up in Beverley in March of 2017, having spent a number of years working as an accountant both locally and overseas. Under the expert guidance of the wider TaxAssist network, Tony has grown the business significantly over the last 18 months, and now has three members of staff.

Based on Grovehill Road, close to the industrial estate, Tax assist are located in a prime position with easy parking to ensure business people are not inconvenienced when making that journey to see the accountant.
