Leading new partner is welcomed into the team at the region's largest law firm.
Fri 4th May 2018A LEADING light in Hull and East Yorkshire’s legal profession has joined the region’s largest law firm, Wilkin Chapman solicitors.
Nasim Sharf, who has vast experience in the fields of corporate and tax law, is now looking forward to assisting the firm and its pro-active team in developing the business across the East Yorkshire, Humber, York and Lincolnshire region.
A Chartered Tax Adviser as well as a solicitor, he also specialises in working with clients and their accountants to maximise opportunities in the delivery of legal services. “I am relishing the opportunity to continue working with the excellent network of other professionals in the region. Businesses are fortunate in this area in having ready access to top professional advice,” said Nasim.
Nasim will be based at Wilkin Chapman’s Beverley office, but will be working closely with colleagues at the firm’s offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Alford, Louth, Horncastle and Sheffield.
With a position in the Top 200 UK law firms, the ambition of the team at Wilkin Chapman was a large factor in Nasim’s decision to take on this ‘new challenge’.
“It will surprise many to know just how large Wilkin Chapman is and with that comes an ambition to strive for the best, with an innovative approach,” said Nasim.
Born in Kirk Ella, Nasim attended Hull’s Hymers College before studying economics at the University of Nottingham. Further legal and tax studies then followed.
Over the last decade he has extended his professional reach into Europe, working with clients in Sweden, Germany and France. Meanwhile, on the domestic front, he has great knowledge of a range of businesses, with a particularly interest in the food sector – from the field to the fork.
“There is no doubt that the sector, from agriculture through to food processing and retail, has huge importance right across the region and it is vital as we move forward that exceptional professional support continues to be offered, in order to maximise the area’s opportunities,” said Nasim.
Of industry and commerce within the area, Nasim is optimistic for the future.
“There are many very good businesses that exist in this region, and there is a confidence among many of them with signs of increased corporate activity. Brexit certainly does not seem to be having too much of an impact. ” he added.
Partner and head of Wilkin Chapman’s Beverley office Teresa Thomas said: “Nasim is a fantastic addition to Wilkin Chapman, both here and in the rest of the region. He brings with him both experience and knowledge, which will greatly assist us as we look to growing our success both in terms of our clients and our legal teams.”
