Largest syringe in the world 'injects hope' in Beverley visit
Tue 21st July 2015Former addict and alcoholic, John Edwards and his team visited Beverley last week with the biggest syringe in the world.
The model syringe, which is 33ft long and 6ft in diameter, is large enough to host a bedroom in the back of it.
John is touring the UK to ‘inject hope into society’, bringing a message of hope to everyone struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and self-harm.
A firm believer in the guidance of God, John has seen his faith carry him through his own difficulties in life, and now believes others should turn to religion for help too.
“This generation seems to be giving up on God while at the same time depression, suicide and addiction increases. We hope local people and visitors will find the courage to come and speak to us.
John has now been sober for 23 years, and has used his time to set up several Christian rehabilitation centres, homeless outreach and feeding centres.
His visit to Beverley was organised by the New Harvest Church, which meets at the St John Ambulance headquarters in Morton Lane every Sunday.
