Jacob's Well Appeal - Help a school in Sierra Leone!
Mon 11th November 2019Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa which was badly hit by civil war and more recently, by the deadly disease Ebola. It is one of the poorest countries in the world.
Jacob’s Well Appeal is presently trying to equip a school in the centre of Sierra Leone; in a rural village called Mayolla. This school of 500 children (infant, primary and secondary) has several classrooms, but lacks proper desks and chairs. There are up to 60-70 children per class, but there are insufficient classrooms. The school have half-built another building to house another 3 rooms, but presently this has no roof.
Jacob's Well Appeal are asking any local schools in the East Yorkshire / Hull area for any school desks, chairs, storage units or similar furniture, if they are upgrading what is currently used.
At present Jacob's Well Appeal are helping Mayolla school to acquire school uniforms, and will be looking at helping them complete the new building.
If you can help in any way, please contact Jacob’s Well Appeal in Beverley (01482881162 or e-mail office@jacobswellappeal.org).
Thank you.
