Hope Wins Gold At Senior Open World Championships 2024
Sun 4th August 2024Late July Belgium hosted the first ever Senior Open Agility World Championships.
Beverley's Jason Huby and Hope (Cotton Candy Sunshine), competed and are now the Senior Open World Champions.
Jason Commented, "I can not believe how far this little poodle has brought us . She is just amazing, producing Four runs over the last four days all clear rounds over some amazing courses. She is fantastic"".
Earlier this year April 2024, Hope (Cotton Candy Sunshine) qualified for the Great Britain Small team for the first ever Senior Open Agility World Championships held in Belgium from 18th -21st July.
The Great Britain Small team consisted of 4 dogs and the event consisted of 4 individual runs, two contributing towards the team total. There were dogs from 30 countries from around the world with over 100 of the best dogs in the world in Hope’s category.
In all runs Hope produced clear rounds and never finished outside the top three. The team finished with a silver medal in the jumping, and Hope took home three individual silver medal places and one bronze.
The overall combination giving her Gold and making Jason and Hope the first ever Senior Open Agility World Champions in the over 55 category.
Hope and Jason train at Agility at Wagtails at Weel and have their fitness maintained by Operation K9 hydrotherapy.
