Geoff Green and the Carousels win Hull Daily Mail's Battle of the Bands

Beverley man Geoff Green has won the prestigious Hull Daily Mail Battle of the Bands contest with his band, The Carousels.
The final, held on July 17th at Hull New Theatre saw Geoff Green and the Carousels compete with 15 other acts (the evening also saw the crowning of this year's Search for a Star) by playing two original songs - the second one 'This Ain't the Blues' was particularly impressed the judges.
Geoff said: "We qualified by competing against 5 other bands with a much longer set at Oscars Bar in Hull. There were three judges that evening. At the final, there were 10 judges plus a packed audience. The judges were impressed with the way we interacted with the crowd, as well as with our musicianship."
The lads won £500 plus a slot at Tribfest, which they are very much looking forward to. Tribfest is held at Sledmere House August 15-18 August. Geoff Green and the Carousels appear at 1pm on Friday 16th.
