Flemingate's GBK 'Thrilled' By Resounding Success
Tue 26th July 2016Premium burger venue, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), has hailed the launch of its latest restaurant at Flemingate in Beverley as a resounding success after welcoming more than 1,300 diners in its opening week.
The first of its kind in East Yorkshire, GBK kick-started its official launch earlier this month with a 100 cheeseburger giveaway. Local residents and visitors to Flemingate clamoured to take advantage of the offer at the contemporary new venue located next to Parkway Cinema.
GBK Beverley is the brand’s 73rd restaurant to open in the UK and has created 32 local jobs.
Laura Pettingale, GBK Marketing Manager, said: “We’re thrilled by the positive reception we’ve had from Beverley burger lovers since we opened. Our 100 cheeseburger giveaway was a great success, with burgers being snapped up straight off the grills. After such a strong launch we look forward to introducing more local burger fans to our adventurous menu.”
Dominic Gibbons, Managing Director of Wykeland Group, added: “GBK’s opening marks another great step forward in the centre’s all-day dining offer extending to the evenings to complement the cinema and after work visitors. It brings a nationally-known brand that was previously unavailable in our catchment area to people’s doorsteps and will no doubt provide a lot of footfall to the nearby Flemingate shops and local businesses too.”
GBK follows other recent openings at Flemingate including Riva Lounge, Baytree Interiors, and Peacocks. Leading UK retailers River Island and Outfit are both set to open their doors at Flemingate soon.
The £120m Flemingate development – Beverley’s largest-ever regeneration scheme – includes big-name brands such as Debenhams and H&M and is also home to the East Riding College campus, an 80-bed Premier Inn hotel and six-screen digital cinema, Parkway.
