First Ever Hull & East Riding Mumbler Awards celebrate and recognise the best of things to do for families in East Yorkshire.

The Hull & East Riding Mumbler has launched their first ever Family Awards. The general public have been encouraged to nominate their favourites things to do with children in the local area, in one of the following 8 categories –

Best Local Family Attraction
Best Local Free Day Out
Favourite Under 5s Class or Activity
Favourite Over 5s Class or Activity
Favourite School Holiday Club or Camp
Favourite Child Friendly Eating Out Venue
Healthy & Active Kids Award
Best Community Project or Charity for Families

Over 10,000 nominations were submitted and the top 5 most nominated businesses in each category are now through to the finals. The public can now vote again for their favourite of the finalists. Voting opened on 17th January 2020 and voting will close at midnight on Sunday 23rd February 2020. To date (7th February) over 15,500 votes have already been cast making it a fierce battle to see who is going to be crowned winner in each category. We are encouraging everyone to get their votes in before the 23rd February 2020 deadline to make sure their favourites get their votes!

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Mercure Grange Park Hotel in Willerby on Friday 20th March 2020 from 7pm. As well as revealing the winners it will be a fun evening including a meal, comedian and disco. Tickets are selling fast and we are encouraging anyone who would like to attend to reserve tickets as soon as possible.

The Hull & East Riding Mumbler is a website that lists and shares all things to do with children across the area. The awards are to recognise and celebrate the fantastic things for families that we have here in East Yorkshire. Built and run by local mum Rachael Smith, Mumbler will be 5 years old in March.

Rachael commented “5 years ago I had a newborn baby and a 3 year old and no idea what there was to do in the area with them. Through building and running The Hull & East Riding Mumbler I have been surprised and delighted by how many incredible activities, classes, attractions and events we have locally for families. I wanted to give them all the recognition they deserved. The first ever Hull & East Riding Mumbler Awards will celebrate the businesses that wouldn’t usually appear on a Local Business Awards platform. The awards ceremony will be held on the 5 year anniversary of the launch of Mumbler”
