Evie wins apprenticeship award

Evie Molloy, an apprentice at Hemingway Bailey and student at East Riding College, has been named Intermediate Apprentice of the Year 2014 at the Yorkshire and the Humber National Apprenticeship Awards which were held on Wednesday evening.
Having been named a finalist for the event, she and the Hemingway Bailey team travelled to Leeds for the ceremony, where Hemingway Bailey was Highly Commended in the Newcomer SME of the Year category.
The Yorkshire and the Humber National Apprenticeship Awards are in their 11th year and celebrate the achievements of the country’s most outstanding apprentices and apprenticeship employers.
Evie’s apprenticeship with Hemingway Bailey gives her great responsibilities in working directly with clients, organising meetings and attending business coaching, and her award shows the tremendous effort she puts into everything she does. Evie also runs her own business – MixEd – which in itself helps apprentices become promotion ready and build skills.
Evie has just completed her Level 2 AAT at East Riding College with her Level 3 beginning this month. Her ultimate aim is to progress to professional qualifications.
Hemingway Bailey are so passionate about wanting to develop young people to reach their full potential that apprentices have a large influence in the organisation. They have, from day one, been given responsibility, because Hemingway Bailey believes early responsibility means greater development and quicker learning, while enjoying the role.
Apprentices are involved in all areas of the business including marketing, networking, mentoring in school and developing their all-round business skills.
Evie will now proceed to a final national judging stage where the highest scoring apprentices will be nominated for the National Intermediate Apprentice of the Year award, with a ceremony at the LG Arena, NEC Birmingham in November. Here, the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers will also be announced by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City and Guilds.
Alan Hemingway, Hemingway Bailey director, is an Apprentice Ambassador with the Skills Funding Agency, where he is part of a team committed to promoting the benefits of apprenticeships to employers.
