Energy firm expanding jobs
Mon 23rd February 2015Beverley-based renewable energy company Discover Energy is celebrating a landmark achievement by planning to employ more people to help fuel its future success.
Discover Energy helped its ever growing band of clients generate more than 1 million watts of electricity - enough to power a small village - in 2014. Now, the firm has already beaten that figure in 2015 and is set to employ more people to help it cope with a growing order book.
Discover Energy's Martin Bleasby said: “We have already got orders for delivering in 2015 of 1.7 megawatts of electricity and installation of solar PV panels because they are an excellent business proposition for many firms, especially farmers, in the region.
“We have established a very good reputation within Yorkshire and further afield. We will be needing more people to help us cope as the business grows.”
Increasing numbers of businesses are being attracted to the benefits of solar PV because it is essentially 'fit and forget' product which will help reduce electricity bills and also generate an income.
However, Discover Energy sets itself apart from its competitors by installing technology that constantly monitors that installation to ensure it's working as effectively as it can do.
Mr Bleasby added: “There has never been a better time for a business to invest in solar PV as the cost of technology is falling and those who sign up now will enjoy the current tariff rates which are likely to reduce in the future.
“Indeed, we actively strive to get the best return available and unique to Discover Energy we can access higher rates of export payments, so the installation makes even more money for many of our customers.”
Discover Energy is now installing more than 1,500 solar panels every month and their order book has orders of more than £1.6million to be installed over the coming months.
This means that the headcount at their new base in Beverley looks set to increase during 2015, with three extra staff currently being recruited, and a further 10 staff expected to be employed later in the year.
They currently have vacancies for a site supervisor, an accounts assistant and a sales person. For more information, visit their website.
