CREATE YOUR OWN STYLE with Lee Wardell FROM VERB

We are approaching the transition period between summer and winter, which can be so varied in weather! This allows for flexibility in wardrobe choice. The ranges I have bought for September could suit the start of autumn or an Indian summer!

The principles by which I opened VERB and which I try to follow are the same, no matter what the time of year. Here are a few quotes which encompass what we strive to achieve and offer at VERB:

So, what do we have new arriving in store and what will be the fashion trends? Florentino, Brook Taverner, GIBSON and our shoe brands IKON and JOHN WHITE will all be delivering in new and exciting ranges from 3rd September.

Shorts will be abandoned until next year along with flip flops; however, tshirts are a staple which will last until well into autumn, with just an extra layer of ‘hoody’ or knitwear added. Jeans will make a return and once again will be a key element to any wardrobe Polo shirts and various knitwear choices will be available and make a perfect transition layer. Jackets will again be worn - they can look relaxed or smart with a button-down shirt.

Fabrics will still be natural and allow the skin to breathe. Merino wool is my particular favourite and has so many qualities; it’s a good insulator as well as being excellent at regulating body temperature, providing warmth without overheating the wearer and drawing moisture away from the skin. The fabric is also slightly moisture repellent allowing the user to avoid the feeling of
wetness. Due to its natural elasticity, Merino wool can be stretched without it losing its shape. It’s incredibly soft as a result of the fineness of the fibres.

There’s also a cross-over with technical products becoming more stylish and used for everything from a causal jacket to a lightweight ‘pack-away’ item for transitional weather. Overall, the end of summer and beginning of autumn in an exciting time for retail! Let’s hope the weather plays its part and cools off nicely!
