The seasons are rolling thru’ thick and fast, the holidaying month of August seems a long way away and the onset of autumn has happened, which is a favourite season for retailers as the extra layers and ‘wardrobe freshen ups’ are required.
However, ‘time waits for no man’ (or woman) and the ‘festive C word’ is already being discussed quite readily on the shop floor with customers planning present purchases and creating personal Christmas lists - with only 2 more pay days before Christmas for some. It’s the time for listening for ‘hints’ or comment - the ‘peaky blinder 6 paneled cap’ from the TV programme is in stock and has already been requested and is available with matching gloves and a pocket watch and chain!
Sizing for presents is so key... here is a tip. When buying a top for a man, take a piece of string, find a shirt/jumper that fits and measure from arm pit to arm pit; cut the string to length, pop in your bag and use for reference when shopping! Simple! You can do the same for trouser waists and leg lengths - but don’t confuse the pieces of string! Remember to consider the rise of the trouser waist to crotch measurement.
Shoes - check sizes and width fittings. Burlington socks are in stock to lighten up all ankles - one size fits all making life so much easier and no string required! Scarves make great presents - 100% silk Paisley ‘total-inspired’ neckwear makes a real nice touch for a jacket - and one-size fits all there, too.
Belts need to co-ordinate with shoes, so check out wardrobes for current styles and colours and again measure the size of the belts with string. With the ‘tweed-inspired’ jacket look still so strong, matching belts and shoes will compliment any man’s wardrobe perfectly.
