As we approach the festive season, I want to take a moment to reflect on what makes Beverley such a special place and why I, as someone born and bred in Beverley, feel so privileged to be the town’s 431st Mayor. Our historic market town is not only rich in heritage and tradition, but in the strength, kindness, and
generosity of its people.
This year, we have seen our community come together in so many ways - in our neighbourhoods, schools, churches, and through the work of Beverley Town Council.
From supporting local charities and volunteers to helping community groups thrive through partnership grants, Beverley continues to show what can be achieved when we work hand in hand.
One of the highlights of 2025 has been how we came together to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our town and our country. The commemorations around VE Day and VJ Day were truly memorable - gathering in the Memorial Gardens and enjoying the beautiful concert at St Mary’s Church reminded us of the enduring importance of remembrance and gratitude. I want to pay tribute to the incredible efforts of our local volunteers, community organisations, and charities who give their time and energy to make life better for others. Your dedication is the heartbeat of our town.
As we celebrate Christmas, let us cherish these connections and look forward to a new year filled with hope, compassion, and opportunity. On behalf of Beverley Town Council, I wish every resident a joyful Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous New Year.
Warmest wishes,
Cllr Alison Healy, Mayor of Beverley.
