CHAT shop undergoes refurbishment
Thu 23rd January 2014CHAT community shop on Samman Road has re-opened after an extensive refurbishment, which saw changes to its layout, redecorating and refurnishing.
The shop first opened 14 years ago, when it was run by five churches, but it is now the responsibility of just one - New Harvest Church.
It was re-opened in January by Mayor of Beverley, Martin Cox, with money raised by the shop supporting community projects, local schools and churches.
CHAT stocks clothes, books, bric-a-brac, CDs and household goods, and is open from 10am-4pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays.
It also serves refreshments and somewhere for people to sit and have a chat.
It is run by volunteers, and anyone interested in helping out should call Trevor Green on 01482 888701.
