Ceramic Tile Merchants best in UK

Ceramic Tile Merchants has won a national award for “Excellence in Independent Retailing” in a competition fiercely contended by businesses across the UK.

Ceramic Tile Merchants, the Beverley-based tile retailer, entered the UK Tile Association’s 2014 Annual Awards in December and the winners were announced at an awards ceremony in London on Friday 25 April.

During the last year, Ceramic Tile Merchants put the finishing touches to their new spacious showroom facility which now has over 300 tile displays, in addition to purchasing a new 7500sq ft warehouse close by, which is now fully operational. There was also a big investment in building their online presence and social media.

Garry Cammidge, Ceramic Tile Merchants’ managing director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by this award. It recognises the quality of what we do for our customers. Despite the continuing sluggish market conditions, we have continued to invest time and resource in creating a wider awareness and recognition across the region, of our commitment to excellence, so we are well prepared to take advantage of an improving market.”

The company had been shortlisted in March, along with four others.
