Celebrate Spring - and Mothers Day - in the countryside in Beverley and Goole
Thu 14th March 2019East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team has arranged two special events to celebrate spring – and Mother’s Day – in Beverley and Goole.
Birds at Beverley Parks on Sunday, 24 March is a new bird watching walk around the nature reserve. It will be a chance to see and hear birds in this varied landscape of field, hedgerow, orchard and parkland, and also an opportunity to find out the results of last year’s breeding bird survey in the area. Led by a birdwatching guide from Yorkshire Coast Nature, the event will include a stroll of up to a mile. Participants should bring their own binoculars if possible, though a few will be available to borrow.
Meet at Beverley Parks Local Nature Reserve, off Long Lane. The event will be from 10am -12.30pm. Booking is essential. This event costs £3.50 for adults; £2.50 for over 60s and under 16s; or a family ticket costs £9 (two adults and up to three children).
A Wild Mother’s Day will be a chance to celebrate the big day with a difference at Oakhill Nature Reserve in Goole on Sunday, 31 March. The event will be a chance to come and spend quality time in a beautiful setting on the nature reserve and take part in a conservation morning. Participants will contribute to a wildlife project surrounded by green leaves and the sound of spring birdsong, and then enjoy a cuppa afterwards!
Meet at Oakill Nature Reserve car park, off Tom Pudding Way, Goole. The event will be from 10am -1 pm, and is free, but booking is essential.
