Canadian Singer To Perform At Beverley Library

All the way from Prince Edward Island, Canada, singer, songwriter and published author Tara Maclean will visit Beverley Library.

Tara will be intertwining performances of her music with readings from her debut book, Song of the Sparrow

Tara has been an internationally renowned and award-winning, touring artist for over 25 years. Last year, she received the Stompin' Tom award by the East Coast Music Association, marking her outstanding contribution to music in the region. 

Her first book, Song of the Sparrow, was widely celebrated, Tara quickly followed up this success with “Sparrow” the soundtrack for the book. She is also an environmental and social justice activist, a zen student, a poet, and playwright.

Hayley Clark, arts in libraries officer at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: ‘’We are beyond excited to welcome Tara Maclean to Beverley Library.

‘’As an internationally accomplished and recognised artist, Tara has made a significant contribution to the arts over the years.

‘’Her unique blend of music and literature promises to be an unforgettable experience for all attendees.’’

This event will take place on Saturday, 3 May at 2pm in Beverley Library.

Tickets are £5 per person and have been subsidised by East Riding Libraries, thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
