Biggest racing weekend in East Yorkshire to take place
Fri 3rd July 2015East Yorkshire’s biggest racing weekend of the year takes place on Saturday at Beverley Racecourse.
The whole town is likely to become much busier than usual, with race-goers making their way to the racecourse and back on what is set to be another hot day.
Local police have put a traffic system in place from 5-7pm to allow for large numbers of the public re-entering the town centre. York Road (the main road outside the racecourse) will become one way only, and all departing traffic must turn towards the Dog Kennel Lane roundabout, away from Beverley.
The racing weekend will see live music from the popular Paradise Steel band, and ticket holders will be able to enjoy locally sourced food from the racecourse’s eateries.
Gates to the racecourse open at 11.30am and the first race takes place at 1.50pm. The last race will be held at 5.20pm.
Some tickets have already sold out, with Premier Enclosure tickets no longer being available. Tickets for the G&P and Course Enclosure will be available to buy on the door.
