Beverley resident launches low cost online estate agency service for local property sellers
Mon 13th July 2015Beverley resident and Hull University graduate Sophie Ottaway has launched a new low cost online estate agency service, which aims to cut the average cost of selling a property by as much as 80%.
The new service, titled 'Simplymoov' takes inspiration from nationwide online estate agency companies and offers equally competitive prices but with a sole focus on the East Yorkshire market. When asked about her vision, Sophie said:
"My aim is to deliver the same high quality service you would expect from a high street estate agent, but at a fraction of the price. As we do not operate from expensive high street premises – we can pass these savings down to the consumer in the prices that we offer. Given that 95% of property searches now start online, customers should not feel they are losing exposure by choosing to sell with an online agent."
While a high street estate agent typically charges between 1% and 2% of a property's ultimate sale price, Simplymoov charge a single low cost upfront fee, which starts at less than £500. For the average UK property – which was cited at £200,000 in June – buyers could save between £1500 and £3000 by going online in comparison to high street estate agency fees.
Sophie, 29, received her inspiration several years ago while working with her family in a local franchise of a national online estate agency company. As much of her career involved digital marketing for large multinational companies, Sophie felt an online estate agency would allow her to combine her knowledge of digital with her understanding of the local property market.
Simplymoov launched on Friday July 10 and is offering the first 10 customers the opportunity to save £200 on their standard package price.
